Everyday risks

Are you doing what’s necessary to protect your business?

These gaps show up in businesses of every size. If you’re not sure whether yours are handled, you’re not alone.

Handled? Old access

A contractor left 3 months ago.

They may still be an admin on your payments account.

Handled? Lost phone

Your phone is gone.

If it was the only way into your email, so is your access.

Handled? Reused password

One password, used everywhere.

One leak can open every account that shares it.

Handled? Fake bank change

A “client” emails new bank details.

The address is one letter off from the real one.

Everything else gets done. Security gets pushed to next week. SecuriNav turns it into clear steps you can actually finish.

How it works

You don’t need to be a cybersecurity expert.

1

Tell SecuriNav how your business works

Answer 10 quick questions and list your people, tools and who can access what.

2

See what to fix first

Get one plan, most important security tasks first, with a plain reason and a time estimate for each step.

3

Work through it and keep going

Make each change in your own tools. Try to finish at least one step a week, and more when you can. Your plan updates as your business changes.

SecuriNav guides you. It doesn’t scan, monitor or change your accounts. You make the changes, and you mark them done.

Who it’s for

Built for the person who ends up handling security.

Solo owners

You run everything yourself. Get a short list of what matters for your accounts, your money and your customers, and steps you can finish between everything else.

Startup founders

Customers, investors and insurers start asking about security. Get your basics in order and keep a clear record of what you’ve done.

Small teams

People and contractors come and go. Keep access under control, give each step an owner and see progress across the team.

A better way than guessing.

About SecuriNav

Helping founders protect what they’re building.

You started a business to solve a problem, serve your customers or bring an idea to life. Becoming a cybersecurity expert probably wasn’t part of the plan.

But protecting your business still falls on your shoulders. You know it matters. What’s harder is knowing where to start, which advice applies to you and what deserves your attention first, especially when hiring a security professional isn’t in the budget.

We created SecuriNav for founders facing that gap.

Shawn Thornton, founder of Smart Biz iT

Our story starts with Smart Biz iT

SecuriNav is a platform developed by Smart Biz iT, a cybersecurity company founded by Shawn Thornton. Through our work helping businesses navigate technology and security, we saw a recurring problem: solo founders, startups and small teams wanted to take cybersecurity seriously, but the path forward wasn’t clear or affordable.

Much of the advice available assumed resources they didn’t have: a dedicated IT department, a security team or the time to work through complicated technical guidance. Founders were left trying to determine what mattered while also managing customers, finances, operations and everything else their businesses needed.

As a technology and cybersecurity professional who is also building a small business, Shawn understands both sides of that challenge. Knowing security is important doesn’t create more hours in the day or room in an already stretched budget.

We built SecuriNav to help close that gap, making practical security knowledge more accessible to the people who need it.

Grounded in real-world experience

SecuriNav’s development is informed by real-life situations and the observations, data and lessons we’ve gathered through our work. Those experiences shape the problems we focus on, the questions we ask and the guidance we aim to make useful.

One important lesson is that business tools don’t operate in isolation. Your email connects to your files. Your accounts connect to customer systems, payment services and other tools you rely on. A weakness in one place can create problems somewhere else.

Our approach reflects those connections. We want founders to understand not just an individual risk, but how it relates to the way their business actually operates and why addressing it matters.

Practical security for real businesses

Our goal is straightforward: help founders make sense of cybersecurity and take meaningful steps forward.

That means plain language instead of unnecessary jargon. Priorities instead of an overwhelming list. Guidance that respects limited time and budgets, while recognizing when professional help is needed.

SecuriNav isn’t a promise that nothing will go wrong or a replacement for every kind of security expertise. It exists to give founders a more informed starting point and a clearer path toward protecting their businesses.

Our why

Behind every small business is someone’s time, ambition and livelihood. There are customers who trust it and people who depend on it.

We believe protecting that work shouldn’t have to wait until a business can afford its own security team.

That’s why we created SecuriNav: to help founders move from knowing cybersecurity matters to understanding what they can do about it.

You’re building something worth protecting. We want to help you protect it.

Questions

Who is SecuriNav for?

Founders, solo owners and small teams that run on cloud and online tools and don’t have a security team.

How much time does it take?

Setup takes about 10 minutes. Most steps take 10 to 30 minutes. Try to finish at least one a week, and more when you can.

Do I need any technical knowledge?

No. Every step is written in plain English, and unfamiliar terms are explained where they appear.

Is my tool supported?

We currently support 70+ tools, with more added all the time. Check the supported tools list, and let us know if yours is missing.

Does it scan or monitor my accounts?

No. You enter how your business works and SecuriNav builds your plan from that. You never share passwords with us.

Does finishing my plan mean I’m secure or compliant?

No tool can promise that. SecuriNav helps you find and work through the steps that matter most for your business, and keep a record of what you’ve done.

Do I need a card to start the trial?

Yes. You'll add one after you see your plan. You won't be charged until the 7-day trial ends.
